Porro was founded in Brianza, the traditional birthplace of Italian quality furniture. Since 1925, the Porro family has run the company according to a vision of furniture that unites the artisan traditions of the time with the avant-garde production and computer technologies of today. The culture of furniture as a family heritage, together with the principles that govern production – clean lines, regular shapes, functionality – have allowed Porro to gradually secure a large part of the international market.

This important legacy has always been shared with many of the leading Italian and international designers, such as Piero Lissoni – the company’s art director since 1989 – Jean Marie Massaud, Christophe Pillet, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, Ferruccio Laviani, Decoma Design, Elisa Ossino, Werner Aisslinger and Wolfgang Tolk, whose collaborative efforts have helped place Porro’s collections at the forefront of the furniture sector.

Seventy percent of Porro’s production consists of systems for day and night environments, both for domestic and work environments, where the value of design stands out, which is almost visible in three dimensions in finished products. A design approach that emphasizes detail: invisible hinges or push-pull opening mechanisms, hidden fasteners for shelving, and hidden runners running silently on ball bearings, making Porro’s environment almost noise-free, and relaxing and pleasant to live. Unique technologies, some of which are patented, give greater substance and value to the identity of the product.

Porro’s production is completed with a range of closed cabinets and dressing rooms, beds, shelves, chairs and tables, as well as decoration accessories that not only look good with Porro furniture, but also improve any type of interior environment, from the simplest and most restrained to the most eclectic and decorative. The most used materials are wood, glass, glass, marble and aluminum. Natural and simple materials used together with high-tech ones is yet another example of the fusion of tradition and innovation. All based on firm principles of design and function, the ranges feature different quality finishes, combinations of materials, and colors, so each product can be a reflection of the person who choses it. In fact, the entire production range offers a wide variety of combinations and finishes. In a word, personalized.

Gunni & Trentino is an official Porro distributor.
