The Italian brand of lighting Artemide, founded in 1960, is one of the most prestigious in the world. The Artemide Group is one of the world leaders in the field of residential lighting and high-end professional lighting. Noted for its philosophy “The Human Light" its name has become synonymous with design and innovation as well as the “Made in Italy" concept. Artemide has contributed to the history of international design with lights as Eclisse (1967, Vico Magistretti), Ptolemeo (1989 Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina) and Pipe (2004, Herzog & De Meuron), all Compasso d’Oro winners. Artemide highlights both modern interior lighting, ceiling lamps, suspended lamps, free-standing lamps and table lamps, as well as architectural lighting and outdoor lighting.
In 1994 Artemide received the Compasso d’Oro award and the prestigious European Design Prize in 1997. Artemide works since its inception with leading international designers and actively promotes workshops with design schools such as the Royal College of Art in London, in order to find the best talent among the younger generation of designers.
