Designers like George Chevalier, Ettorre Sottsass, Van Day Truex, Elie Top, Andrée Putman, Philippe Starck, Arik Levy, Jaime Hayon, Marcel Wanders and Kenzo Takada have renewed and still renew the brand with their particular interpretation of the world of Baccarat crystal.

Baccarat history is an important part of the history of glass. It begins when King Louis XV of France awarded in 1764 the bishop of Metz, Louis-Joseph de Laval-Montmorency, a permission to found a glass workshop in the village of Baccarat in the province of Lorraine. The first products consisted mainly of mirrors, glasses and glasses for windows until in 1816 the first glass furnace was installed. By this time the company employed more than three thousand people. Since then Baccarat has experienced an exemplary evolution in each period admirably adapting to changing markets, overcoming historical vicissitudes and creating a unique style.

Currently its collections focus on household products, fine glassware and indoor lighting.
