Project: Akelarre Hotel by Pedro Subijana
Project: Akelarre Hotel by Pedro Subijana
We participated in the Hotel Akelarre project, Chef Pedro Subijana's new venture. Pedro Subijana brings the excellence of his restaurant to a new boutique hotel concept.
GUNNI&TRENTINO Contract was pleased to supply equipment for the project. The architects in charge of bringing it to life were Marta Urtasun and Pedro Rica, founding partners of the Mecanismo architectural firm.
Introducing Pedro Subijana is easy... a 3-Michelin-star chef, internationally admired, constantly evolving and seeking new approaches that constantly enrich our culinary landscape. Since his beginnings at the now legendary Akelarre in 1970, he has continually surprised experts and non-experts alike. His restaurant has evolved spectacularly, becoming a benchmark both as a school and for its architectural presentation, housing several spaces, including a reimagined version of the traditional Txoko.
Now, Subijana has taken its philosophy even further by creating a spectacular yet welcoming hotel concept. The sea views from its suites are unique, and the architectural project is one of the most interesting we've seen this season. Located in a privileged location on Monte Igeldo in San Sebastián, we're sure it will be a success.
