Massimo Castagna
Massimo Castagna is an Italian architect and designer with a prolific career spanning more than three decades. A 1984 graduate of the Milan Polytechnic, he founded his studio AD Architettura in 1986, where he has pursued a career marked by innovation and eclecticism. His approach ranges from high-altitude mountain architecture—such as the "Pyramid" laboratory in Nepal for the CNR—to luxury furniture and interior design for Italian and international brands. His work is notable for its constant pursuit of creative freedom, where form and material interact naturally, without being held captive by formalism or industrial limitations.
Castagna has made a significant mark on the world of interior design through collaborations with firms such as Gallotti&Radice, Henge, Ceccotti Collezioni, Rossana Cucine, and Minotti. His designs combine material sophistication and timeless elegance, as exemplified by the Bolle lamp, the Audrey sofa, and the K-IN/K-OUT kitchen system. Since 2000, he has complemented his professional work with teaching, training new generations of designers. His unique and emotional approach has positioned his work as a benchmark of contemporary Italian design.
