Permanent exhibition: Fusion of art and design

For the first time, the Gunni&Trentino Flagship Store is hosting its permanent exhibition, "Fusion of Art and Design."

This Spanish company, a benchmark in the world of decoration and design—with 3,000 m2 dedicated to all product categories in a single space, featuring the best international contemporary design—is permanently converting its flagship store in Madrid into an art gallery exhibiting works by various artists. Visiting hours for the Flagship Store will be Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The artists you can find throughout our building in the coming months will be:

Gonzalo de Salas , an artist specializing in high-end decoration. Born in Madrid, he entered the art world like many others after previously cultivating other disciplines. He began his career as a sculptor in the early 1990s. Initially, he experimented with figurative sculpture linked to the decorative arts, but his maturity came with a radical shift toward abstract conceptualism.

Jesús Guerrero , a Venezuelan painter born in Mérida, Venezuela, is part of the so-called Tovar group, a group of Andean artists from melancholic villages—as he has defined them—who found themselves isolated from the turmoil of the Pan-American Highway. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Venezuela, France, Monaco, Malta, Colombia, and Peru, and is represented in important national and international public and private collections. Throughout his career, his work has been recognized with several awards.

Jesús Chamizo , a Spanish photographer, has been involved with the visual arts since a very young age and has studied at several photography schools. Dedicated to the arts from an early age, he develops his research in different photographic areas (art, architecture, interiors, landscape, automotive, etc.), combining them all: concept, technique, and creativity. He has won several national and international awards. Along the way, he has found other ways of depicting architectural spaces, creating works with a particular physiognomy and opening the mind to new spaces that move in a different dimension than the usual.

Felipe García-Bañón Sanz-Briz , known as Felipao, an artist born coincidentally in Morocco, the son and grandson of diplomats, has lived all over the world: the United Arab Emirates, France, Kenya, Nicaragua, and other countries. This cosmopolitan lifestyle and exposure to different cultures have allowed him to develop a multifaceted vision of the world. With a degree in economics and business administration from ICADE, his working life spans various multinational companies. In 2009, he decided to make a major change in his life. His need to communicate his experiences, his vision, and what had been his passion until then, led him to abandon the world of multinationals and dedicate himself completely to art. His home decor line, Felipao at Home, is LED furniture inspired by his Bulldog sculptures. His iconic creations have positioned him as one of the most recognized Spanish pop artists today. His sculptures are a symbiosis of art, design, and decor.

Arturo Ávarez: A renowned designer, he develops a distinctive style with a strong personality. He fluidly manipulates shapes, volumes, and light sources in a simple and elegant manner, masterfully blending them and providing a new vision of creative lighting, successfully creating striking scenographic and luminous scenes in spaces.

Abraham Benzadón: "Art Estudio" is the name of this sculptor's studio, which collaborates with major museums such as the Reina Sofia Museum of Contemporary Art, Georges Pompidou in Paris, and Thyssen Bornemisza, among others, to bring contemporary art closer and make it more democratic, both through more affordable prices and through reasoned explanations of the works, understandable to all audiences, thus fostering a sensitivity to art. He works with renowned interior designers on the current scene, and his work is exhibited nationally and internationally.

Jacobo Vargas : (Jacobo Vargas-Zúñiga Corsini, Madrid 1969). He is a Madrid-born photographer with an African heart and a citizen of the world. After working in private banking, he broke away from everything to go to Africa and become a professional hunter. It was this direct contact with nature that led him to develop his great passion: photography. A self-taught artist, he possessed a highly refined and unsurpassed technique, thanks to his tenacity and critical, perfectionist nature.

Alberto Guerrero : This artist is interested in superimposing layers of matter, exploring the relationship between the different layers of color and the resulting textures. As a result, he seeks a harmonious whole. Alberto attempts to convey—as an analogy of history—a composition of millions of factors that overlap and interrelate to give rise to specific events or periods.

Mibanezo: : Recycled glass, natural stones, brass, resins and marble dust are the starting point for MIBANEZO's creation of a fantastic world of "Agatree & Agatable", where these artistic pieces converted into tables or sculptures take the leap to add a brutalist touch to our daily lives without losing sight of a strong aesthetic and detailed component. Simulating authentic cuts of stones and rocks, they are created through an artisanal process, each piece is formed in a very meticulous way, achieving sizes, shapes and colors that test true nature.

Toni Cañestro is an emerging sculptor who, from his studio, "LaRevolta," creates mobile sculptures with his own unique style, which he defines as "moving art made with pure, local, and recyclable materials." Toni finds inspiration in a small town on the Costa Brava, where he has established his creative workshop dedicated to the study, research, development, and production of his select pieces of art.
Manuela García-Noblejas Liniers: She studied interior design (IADE), her passion for art and decoration has always been reflected in her professional career, which began with her own decoration studio where over 20 years she developed all kinds of projects (hotels, restaurants, shops, private...). In 1992 she changed course and joined projects in large companies such as Gancedo y González designing fabrics and carpets, Continente (now Carrefour) as a freelancer in charge of the furniture and household goods collection and the home staging of hypermarkets and during her time at Vip's and Gocco she held the position of purchasing advisor.

Over the next few months, these artists will rotate, and attendees will have the opportunity to discover new works, different perspectives, and icons of the art world at the Gunni&Trentino flagship store.
