Ceramics exhibition: MUTINA's latest at GUNNI&TRENTINO
Ceramics exhibition: MUTINA's latest at GUNNI&TRENTINO
Throughout the month of June, the designer ceramics brand MUTINA will be exhibiting its new collections at the GUNNI&TRENTINO Flagship Store. The bathrooms (-1) floor and the garden of the GUNNI&TRENTINO Flagship Store in Madrid will be dedicating several spaces to the ceramics brand MUTINA throughout the month of June. The ceramics brand has decided to showcase its new collections to the professional and individual clients who visit the prestigious Spanish high-end home decor store daily.
These are the new MUTINA designer ceramic collections that visitors to the Italian firm's exhibition will be able to see and experience:
Spring Collection : Created by designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, this collection shows us that "Spring" is the contrast between nature and the artificial world. We found a way to capture the authenticity of a natural material by manufacturing imperfections in the surface rather than reproducing a design.
Lane Collection By Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby : Another of the new products presented at Gunni&Trentino, designer Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby tells us: “Lane” is the result of a conceptual analysis of color, interpreted through a detailed study of London’s neighborhoods and architecture, a city that has always been a source of inspiration for designers. It is composed of 3 styles: Base, Poly and Mono. Like London facades, where several strong colors stand out against the background shade, added to Poly are a series of elements that contrast with the previous ranges, while Mono is the optical version and is available in black and white only. The collection comes in a size of 7.9 x 16 cm and is suitable for indoor and outdoor environments, both on floors and walls.
Diarama Collection : Third of four new collections by Mutina. According to Hella Jongerius, “Diarama,” depending on the combination of body and glaze, the result will always be unique. “I used the tiles as a canvas, to see how different colored clay bodies reacted when a glaze was applied to them. I didn’t want the top surface to appear simply colored, but blended, like an oil painting. But then I started wondering: what kind of product should it become? And then I got a call from Mutina. I think I was waiting for that call; it was opportune. It was the right time and the right company.”
Celosia Collection : Designer Patricia Urquiola's latest offering for the brand. Patricia Urquiola: "In 'Celosia' I needed a truly tactile material, one that wasn't meant to be anything else. I was looking for a warm element, both visual and tactile. I wanted to repeat the traditional artisanal production process typical of terracotta. Elements that emerge from the earth, imperfect and solid, marked by the hand of man and the passage of time. Tiles, bricks, hollow bricks, and partitions are broken down, deconstructed, and reinterpreted in a new way, while maintaining a traditional touch. The desire to break away from the two-dimensional spaces typical of standard wall cladding translates into the experimentation of three-dimensional bricks, which shape new design elements whose high aesthetic-functional content allows for unlimited solutions for indoor and outdoor spaces. Due to its shape, the Celosia partition element evokes the Roman numeral system. The structure followed for its installation creates dynamic and unique partitions."
