Gabriel Teixidó
Gabriel Teixidó, born in Barcelona in 1947, is one of the most renowned industrial designers on the Spanish scene. Trained at the Barcelona School of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts, he has spent over thirty years dedicated to product design. His understated and functional style eschews formal excess to focus on practical and durable solutions. This philosophy has earned him recognition, including two SIDI awards, several Silver Delta awards, and the Nuevo Estilo award for pieces such as the Bolero chair, the Columba lamp, and the Canaletas wine rack.
Throughout his career, Teixidó has been able to translate everyday needs into accessible and durable design objects, always with the goal of improving people's lives. His approach combines artistic sensibility with an analytical and accurate understanding of the problems of use and functionality, transforming each project into an honest, coherent, and commercially successful proposal. With his work, he has significantly contributed to consolidating Spanish industrial design on the international scene.
