Jakub Pollág and Václav Mlynář

Studio deFORM was founded in 2011 in Prague by Jakub Pollág and Václav Mlynář, two designers who met during their studies at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague and later at the Royal College of Art in London. From its inception, the studio worked in product and furniture design, as well as interior and exhibition architecture. Its approach was to balance commercial commissions with independent creative projects, always striving for functionality with a high aesthetic value.

One of their most iconic works, the Zig Zag shelving unit, symbolizes the studio's ability to create innovative products with commercial potential without losing its conceptual identity. After nearly a decade of collaboration, in 2020 the two founders decided to continue their careers as independent designers, leaving behind a legacy of versatile designs internationally recognized for their formal clarity and contemporary design.
