Jean Marie Massaud
Jean-Marie Massaud, born in Toulouse in 1966, is one of the most influential French designers on the contemporary scene. He graduated in 1990 from the ENSCI in Paris, after an initial period in aerospace engineering, and directed his career toward a design deeply connected to nature and sustainability. Founder of Studio Massaud in 2000 with Daniel Pouzet, his work is characterized by a constant search for balance between functionality, formal lightness, and collective well-being. His vision ranges from product and furniture design to architecture and urban planning, always with a sensitive eye toward the environment and user experience.
His most notable collaborations include brands such as Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Cassina, Arper, MDF Italia, and B&B Italia, for which he has designed iconic pieces such as the Archibald armchair, the GranTorino sofa, and the Saint-Germain collection. Massaud has received prestigious international awards such as the Compasso d'Oro, the Red Dot Design Award, and the Wallpaper Design Award.
