Jean Marie Massaud

Jean-Marie Massaud, born in Toulouse in 1966, is one of the most influential French designers on the contemporary scene. A 1990 graduate of ENSCI Paris, after an initial period in aerospace engineering, he directed his career towards a design deeply connected with nature and sustainability. Founder of Studio Massaud in 2000 with Daniel Pouzet, his work is characterized by a constant search for balance between functionality, formal lightness, and collective well-being. His vision ranges from product and furniture design to architecture and urban planning, always with a sensitive approach to the environment and user experience.

Among his most notable collaborations are firms such as Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Cassina, Arper, MDF Italia, and B&B Italia, for which he has designed iconic pieces like the Archibald armchair, the GranTorino sofa, and the Saint-Germain collection. Massaud has been awarded prestigious international prizes such as the Compasso d’Oro, the Red Dot Design Award, and the Wallpaper Design Award.
