Jean Marie Massaud
Jean-Marie Massaud, born in Toulouse in 1966, is one of the most influential French designers on the contemporary scene. A 1990 graduate of ENSCI Paris, after an initial period in aerospace engineering, he directed his career towards a design deeply connected with nature and sustainability. Founder of Studio Massaud in 2000 with Daniel Pouzet, his work is characterized by a constant search for balance between functionality, formal lightness, and collective well-being. His vision ranges from product and furniture design to architecture and urban planning, always with a sensitive approach to the environment and user experience.
Among his most notable collaborations are firms such as Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Cassina, Arper, MDF Italia, and B&B Italia, for which he has designed iconic pieces like the Archibald armchair, the GranTorino sofa, and the Saint-Germain collection. Massaud has been awarded prestigious international prizes such as the Compasso d’Oro, the Red Dot Design Award, and the Wallpaper Design Award. His organic and emotional style seeks to evoke sensations through essential forms and innovative solutions, establishing a harmonious link between the object, the person, and their environment.
