Johannes Torpe
A multidisciplinary designer, musician, visual artist, and design activist, Johannes Torpe embodies unconventional creativity. Born in Copenhagen, he is the founder of the renowned Johannes Torpe Studios, where he merges his talents in architecture, industrial design, lighting, graphics, and music. Self-taught and with a deeply emotional vision of design, Torpe transforms personal experiences into soulful collections, as demonstrated by "Heartbreaker," where love and heartbreak are transformed into sophisticated forms and materials. His work reflects a constant search for the authentic, like the great themes of a song, promoting projects that provoke sensations beyond the functional.
His collaboration with Moroso marks the reunion of two creative powerhouses, in a synergy that translates emotions into contemporary design. He was creative director of Bang & Olufsen, redefined hospitality with the Red Mountain resort in Iceland, designed trains for Denmark, and has worked with giants like Nike and Argon 18. For Johannes Torpe, creativity knows no boundaries or disciplines: whether developing furniture, spaces, or brand identities, his transgressive approach continues to push the boundaries of design with the same intensity as someone who composes from the soul.
