Michael Anastassiades
Michael Anastassiades is a London-based Cypriot designer known for his minimalist and poetic approach to lighting and furniture design. Trained in civil engineering and industrial design, he founded his studio in 1994 and later, in 2007, his own brand. His work explores the tension between the industrial and the artisanal, and is notable for its use of pure geometric forms, noble materials, and reflective surfaces that give each piece a sculptural presence.
A frequent collaborator with brands such as Flos, Cassina, B&B Italia, and Herman Miller, Anastassiades has created iconic lighting fixtures such as the IC , String Light , Arrangements , and Coordinates collections. His work has been widely recognized with awards such as the ADI Compasso d'Oro and is part of permanent collections at institutions such as MoMA and the Victoria & Albert Museum. His design, marked by introspection and precision, redefines functionality through beauty.
