Paola Navone
Paola Navone is one of the most iconic figures in contemporary Italian design. Born in Turin in 1950, she trained as an architect, but her creative curiosity soon led her to more experimental paths. Her free spirit distanced her from academic conventions and connected her with the Alchimia group, an avant-garde collective led by Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, and Andrea Branzi. This context profoundly influenced her visual language, which fuses cultures, materials, and artisanal techniques with a poetic, spontaneous, and deeply eclectic approach.
Since then, she has built a career spanning product, interior, architecture, and stage design, collaborating with brands such as Gervasoni—where she serves as artistic director—Cappellini, Janus et Cie, and Ceramica Flaminia. Her pieces, such as the iconic Ghost and Nuvola collections, are distinguished by a relaxed and generous aesthetic, marked by a blend of Eastern and Mediterranean traditions, soft forms, and an artisanal sensibility. Navone conceives design as a continuous journey, where each object tells a multicultural and unexpected story.
