Philippe Starck

Philippe Starck is one of the most influential and renowned designers on the international scene. Born in Paris in 1949, he grew up in a creative environment shaped by his father, an aeronautical engineer, from whom he inherited a rigorous and functional approach. He studied at the École Nissim de Camondo, where he cultivated his passion for design and architecture. From the beginning of his career, Starck has been characterized by a unique vision: "democratic design," with the firm belief that objects should improve everyday life and be accessible to all. His work steers clear of exclusivity, focusing on mass production with affordable prices and optimized functionality.

Throughout his extensive career, Starck has created authentic design icons such as the Juicy Salif juicer for Alessi, the Louis Ghost chair for Kartell, and the Miss K lamp for Flos. His prolific output ranges from furniture and household objects to hotel architecture, homes, public spaces, and even experimental living modules. He has collaborated with firms such as Duravit, Axor, Cassina, Kartell, and Flos, leaving an unmistakable mark based on innovation, irony, and humanism. In Starck's work, design becomes a tool for transformation, committed to functionality, accessible beauty, and sustainability.
