Rodrigo Torres
Rodrigo Torres is a Colombian industrial designer with a solid international track record and a design approach that blends technical precision, formal poetry, and attention to detail. Born in Bogotá in 1976, he trained at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University and earned a Master's in Design from the Domus Academy in Milan. His career took off with early recognition, such as the Mario Santo Domingo Award and a prominent participation in the New Designers Exhibition in London. He later worked alongside Stefano Giovannoni, one of the leading figures in contemporary Italian design, an experience that profoundly influenced his style and methodology.
From his studio in Milan, Rodrigo Torres has developed products for prestigious brands such as Alessi, Poliform, Nike, and Ferrero, among others. His designs, which range from furniture to consumer electronics and packaging, have received awards such as the Lápiz de Acero for his Moiled and Manta chairs. He has also participated in exhibitions such as La Fabbrica del Design and collaborated with educational institutions such as Domus Academy and IED Turin. His work is distinguished by a balance between function and innovation, always informed by a refined and multicultural perspective.
