Sami Kallio
Sami Kallio is a Finnish designer based in Sweden whose work reflects an elegant synthesis of tradition and modernity. Born in Helsinki in 1975 and raised in Gothenburg, his training combines artisanal carpentry with contemporary design, effortlessly blending the poetic sobriety of Finnish heritage with the playful Scandinavian spirit. His approach combines industrial processes with manual techniques to create furniture and interiors with clean lines and great conceptual depth, where form and function intertwine in a balanced way.
In 2009, he founded the Brikolör factory and, shortly after, his own studio. Since then, Kallio has cultivated his own unique language, distinguished by its attention to detail, durability, and material honesty. His In Between collection for the &Tradition brand is one of the best examples of his ability to reinterpret classic furniture with a contemporary eye. From seating and tables to lighting fixtures, his work exudes authenticity and precision, exploring the relationships between void and volume, heritage and evolution.
