Detailed description

The Misideboard by Poltrona Frau, designed by Neri&Huin 2021, is born from a delicate interplay between full and empty volumes. Its design works with lightness, transparency, and shadows to create a piece capable of concealing or displaying the objects it contains, always with a sober and refined aesthetic.

The name Micomes from Chinese Pinyin and has a double meaning: it refers both to the action of "searching" and to the concept of "secret." This idea inspires a collection of storage units that combines elegance, discretion, and a careful selection of noble materials.

The model stands out for its tubular metal structure with a burnished steel finish, the exterior covering in Cuoio Saddle Extra Canneté, the interior in Canaletto walnut, and the elevated top available in different marbles. The result is a sideboard with an architectural presence, ideal for high-end contemporary environments.

The Mi Low Cabinetmodel, corresponding to the low sideboard, has the following main measurements:

• Total measurement with elevated top:185 cm wide x 76 cm deep x 86 cm high.
• Container body:176 cm wide.
• Internal width indicated in plan:172 cm.
• Height of the low body:45 cm.
• Depth:76 cm.

The collection also includes other versions:

• Mi High Cabinet:130 cm wide x 70 cm deep x 111 cm high.
• Mi Trolley:82 cm wide x 75 cm deep x 90 cm high.

Technical features

The cabinet structure is made of metal tubing with a burnished steel finish. This structure also functions as the sideboard's base and supports the elevated top.

The sides of the cabinet are made with curved panels in poplar plywood, while the bottoms and backs are made of birch plywood.

The interior and the bottom of the container are veneered in Canaletto walnut. Additionally, the upper edge is finished with a solid Canaletto walnut frame, which also acts as a gripping area for opening the doors.

The Low Cabinethas four doors, organized in two pairs with a book-style opening. The closure is achieved with magnets, allowing for a clean look without visible handles.

The doors are made with a birch plywood structure, honeycomb core, and medium-density fiberboard panels.

The interior of the low sideboard is divided into two independent compartments. Each compartment includes a fixed shelf in birch plywood veneered in Canaletto walnut, with a solid wood edge of the same essence.

The cabinet top is made of tempered glass with a bronze finish.

The elevated top, available for the Low Cabinetand High Cabinetversions, is suspended above the container and rests on the metal structure. The underside of the top is reinforced with a technical mesh and an aluminum support with a burnished steel finish.

The Low Cabinet and High Cabinet furniture rests on adjustable black plastic feet.

Available finishes

The exterior covering of the cabinet is in Cuoio Saddle Extrawith a Cannetépattern, characterized by an exclusive relief of vertical lines. This covering is applied to the front, sides, and back of the cabinet.

The edges of the leather have a clean cut and a tone-on-tone finish.

Elevated top finishes

The elevated top is available in the following marble options:

• Glossy Marquinia marble
• Semi-glossy Marquinia marble

The glossy marble finish receives a treatment with transparent polyester varnish, which increases surface resistance and helps prevent liquid absorption.

The semi-glossy marble finish is treated with a water-repellent protective solution, which provides a more natural look.

Additional details

The metallic details of the cabinet feature a burnished steelfinish.

The sideboard incorporates a brass plate with the Poltrona Fraulogo in a rutheniumfinish, located on the bottom right side.

In the case of the Trolley, the metal structure incorporates four swivel wheels in black plastic and steel. Additionally, the grip area is covered in Cuoio Saddle Extrato match the cabinet's covering and is finished with hand-stitched seams.
