ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Cecilie Manz

Cecilie Manz, born in 1972 in Odsherred, Denmark, is a prominent contemporary designer recognized for the simplicity and functionality of her creations. After graduating in 1997 from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and studying at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, she founded her own studio in Copenhagen in 1998.

His design approach ranges from furniture and lighting to glass and ceramic objects, characterized by a minimalist aesthetic that combines beauty and utility. Among his most iconic works is the "Caravaggio" lamp, designed for Lightyears, which stands out for its elegant form and versatile functionality.

Throughout his career, Manz has collaborated with prestigious brands such as Fredericia, Fritz Hansen, Muuto, and Bang & Olufsen, creating pieces that reflect the essence of contemporary Scandinavian design. His work has been internationally recognized and has been exhibited in museums such as New York's MoMA and the Danish Design Center.
