ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Dante O. Benini and Luca Gonzo

Dante O. Benini and Luca Gonzo are Italian architects and designers renowned for their distinctive approach to contemporary design. Born in Milan, Dante O. Benini received his professional training at the studio of Prof. Carlo Scarpa in Venice. He later moved to Brazil, where he graduated in 1979 from the Federal University of Pará and opened his first studio. In 1988, he was recognized among the 15 most prestigious Italian architects by Class Europe. He founded Dante O. Benini & Partners (DOBP) in Milan, where he led architectural and urban planning projects nationally and internationally. He has been a visiting professor at renowned universities and has received several awards, including the International Award for Technology in Architecture in 1988 and the Vergilius d'Oro in 2007.

Luca Gonzo graduated in Architecture in 1996 with honors and a mention for his thesis. He is a member of the Milan Register of Architects and began his career in the province before joining DOBP, becoming the studio's youngest partner. He has led notable projects such as the Alessandria and Milan car parks, the 120 m TAI Tower in Istanbul, the Vodafone offices in Italy, the Lamborghini Center in Milan, the new trade fair in Moscow, the new Borsa Italiana offices, and the Palazzo Mezzanotte Congress Centre. Together with Dante O. Benini, he designed the TESO radiator for Antrax, which received awards such as the Interior Innovation Award, the Red Dot Award, and the Good Design Chicago Atheneum Award.

In collaboration with Giorgetti, Benini and Gonzo have created pieces that reflect their architectural vision and contemporary design. A notable example is the G-Code table, which combines high-quality materials and elegant design, demonstrating the designers' ability to merge functionality and aesthetics in their creations.
