The Jane table, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2017/2018, is conceived as a piece with great sculptural character, where the tabletop takes on an organic, expansive, and irregular presence. Its surface, designed as a large marble slab with rounded edges, rests on wooden columns that reinforce its architectural language and provide a sense of solidity, balance, and sophistication.

Jane is intended for high-end dining rooms as well as representative areas or spacious workspaces. Thanks to its generous tabletop, it can comfortably seat 5, 8, or even 10 people, offering a versatile surface that can be arranged with complete freedom.

Customization Options

1. Available Dimensions

The Jane table is available in two main versions: a 260 x 140 cm model and a circular version of Ø 200 cm with a Lazy Susan rotating top. The first format stands out for its wide and irregular tabletop, ideal for generous dining rooms or meeting spaces. The circular version, on the other hand, incorporates a central Lazy Susan system that facilitates shared use of the table and provides a particularly functional solution for large dining areas.

2. Marble Top

In the 260 x 140 cm version, the marble top features a molded shape with a rounded edge and is available in a carefully selected range of finishes: glossy Calacatta, semi-gloss Calacatta, glossy Arabescato Venato, semi-gloss Arabescato Venato, glossy Fior di Pesco, and semi-gloss Fior di Pesco.

The underside of the tabletop is reinforced with a technical mesh that improves its resistance to bending, breakage, and impact. This constructive solution preserves the natural beauty of the marble while increasing the piece's robustness.

In the Ø 200 cm circular version with Lazy Susan, the tabletop is composed of four radial sections and a central rotating disc. The outer sections can be moved 10 cm outwards for easy cleaning and include a liquid collection tray. This version is available in glossy Calacatta marble, glossy Arabescato Venato, and glossy Fior di Pesco.

3. Marble Treatments

Marbles with a glossy finish—Calacatta, Arabescato Venato, and Fior di Pesco—receive a transparent polyester varnish treatment that provides greater surface resistance and helps prevent liquid absorption.

Calacatta and Arabescato Venato marbles in a semi-gloss finish are treated with a water-repellent protective solution that offers a more natural look. In the case of semi-gloss Fior di Pesco, the tabletop receives a transparent polyester varnish that provides a semi-gloss effect and a softer touch.

4. Underframe or Bottom Support

For the 260 x 140 cm table, the tabletop rests on an HPL underframe. This support is made in white when the marble is Calacatta or Arabescato Venato, and in black when the tabletop is Fior di Pesco, ensuring careful integration with each finish.

In the Ø 200 cm version with Lazy Susan, the bottom support consists of two parts: a thicker surface that supports the entire table assembly and four supports for the radial sections. The underframes in this version are black HPL.

5. Structure and Columns

The load-bearing structure consists of three columns in the 260 x 140 cm version and four columns in the circular version with Lazy Susan. Each column is composed of three elements: a fixing plate to the tabletop, a central wooden body, and a lower support plate.

The central body of each column is made with a solid beech inner core, clad with four high-density MDF panels veneered in flamed ash. The available finish for the columns is moka-stained ash, a sober and elegant choice that contrasts with the natural expressiveness of the marble. The plates are made of steel, and the lower plate is lacquered in titanium color. In addition, the base incorporates profiled brown felt pads to protect the floor.

Jane stands out for its balance between sculptural presence, richness of finishes, and technical precision. The rectangular version offers a large usable surface, suitable for both dining and as a work table, while the circular version with Lazy Susan introduces particularly comfortable functionality for serving and conversation.

The total weight of the 260 x 140 cm table is 300 kg, distributed between the columns and the tabletop. The Ø 200 cm version with Lazy Susan reaches 375 kg, reflecting the solidity of its construction and the nobility of the materials used.
